We are excited to be presenting the wonderful feature film “Bal – Honig” (2010, Turkey, OmU) by the Turkish filmmaker Semih Kaplanoglu during the upcoming “Agrikulturwochen”.
Young Yusuf lives with his parents in a remote mountain village in Turkey.
He recently started attending elementary school, where he learned to read and write.
His father Yakup is a beekeeper. Deep in the woods, he hangs his beehives in the highest crowns of the largest trees. Yusuf likes to accompany his father in the mountain forest. He attentively gets to know the secrets of nature there. The quiet life of the family gets out of hand as the father does not return home from his work as a honey collector in the mountains. The film won the Golden Bear Award in 2010.
The event will take place on Sunday the 7th of July at 17:30 in the kommunales Kino, Freiburg.
