We are very happy to receive the “Solidarenergie Förderpreis” for the second time in a row.This award represents continuous support and appreciation for our volunteer work.The ceremony of the Solidarenergie e.V. took place at Fabrik on April 4th, 2018. It was a great opportunity for us to get to know other exciting projects and expand our network. 12 groups in total were rewarded for their activities, results of the efforts and commitment of volunteers that wants to contribute to make our world a better place. All of this was framed with live music and cabaret!
Solidarenergie e.V. supports cultural and social projects. Their main objective is to find individuals, companies or institutions willing to rent their roofs to EWS in order to install and operate – at cost price – photovoltaic systems. All the energy gained is fed into the grid and the money gained goes into prize money for socially and culturally committed people in the region.
The main award winner this year is the media educator Irene Schuhmacher with her work for the association Kommunikation und Medien e.V .. The association promotes media education and intercultural communication through action-oriented projects. Through specific workshops, lectures and actions, people learn how to use media independently from thier age and origin. Cultural diversity, equal opportunities and participation are understood as an essential educational task, which is reflected in the diverse projects of the association.
