Dear friends of the Greenmotions Film Festival, dear supporters, dear partner organizations,
What a pity! We will unfortunately cancel the 7th Greenmotions Film Festival planned for November 2020 and postpone it until next year. Our mostly volunteer-based team creates this festival with passion and is ready to go to the capacity limits during “normal” years. Due to the distance regulation, the number of viewers allowed in the Kommunales Kino is so small that the festival cannot take place in our traditional and much appreciated location. Under the current conditions, we would have to look for a new venue and adhere to a hygiene concept. This could only be managed with extreme commitment from the team and would still be associated with great uncertainties regarding the current situation.
Another very important point for this decision is that the concept of our festival is based on the exchange between the public and initiatives. Under the current hygiene regulations, we could only offer this exchange to a limited extent and only with increased effort on our part.
Alternatively, we want to focus on improving our team structures this winter. This year two experienced team members have left Freiburg and thus also Greenmotions, so we will now use this quieter time for us to build a more sustainable team structure.
As soon as we have a date for the next festival, we will publish it on our website and our social media channels. Lets see what opportunities the year 2021 has in store for Greenmotions!
