Robbie and Mollie

Join Robbie the seal and Mollie the seagull in their simple life by the sea! But new dangers are looming: the trash from humans. An exciting adventure about friendship and environmental protection.

A child and an otter-like creature embark on an exciting journey to combat the threatening water scarcity after a divine water source runs dry. “Mû” is a poetic animated film that touching addresses the importance of water.

Rainboy

Meet Rainboy, the extraordinary gardener who plants droplets and makes clouds grow! But when the vain sun gets hurt, it seeks revenge. Together with the clouds, Rainboy brings the sun back to smiling.

Nube

After the death of an old storm cloud, Noma, the fluffy white cloud, realizes that her daughter Mixtli, a dark storm cloud, is in danger. A fairy tale about courage and solidarity!

Naeris

A seed planted in the ground grows into a turnip. But what actually happens underground during this process? The more the turnip grows and the bigger it gets, the more pressing the question becomes: Who actually owns the fruits of the earth? Naeris is based on an old Estonian fairy tale about ownership, solidarity, and betrayal.

Pond

A small herring finds itself in a tidal pool after a seagull attack. There, it meets many other sea creatures and learns that only through cooperation can danger be averted. A story about friendship and teamwork.

The young viewers are the jury and can vote for their favorite films to choose the winner of the short films for children category.

Note: Although no entrance fee is required, it is recommended to book in advance. Choose the film session you are interested in on our Filmfreeway platform (tickets are organised per film name and follow the chronological order of our festival). There are no assigned seats.  Please come half an hour before the session. We will give away the tickets that haven’t been collected 15 minutes before the session starts.

hoeranlage PiktogrammThe cinema room is equipped with an inductive sound system. We use two microphones for the discussion afterwards (one for the moderator and/ or speaker, one for the public).
Information about languages is provided above. We tend to provide live interpretation towards English or German when needed (it might be whispered). However live interpretation is harder to put into place when some speakers are taking part online.

No entrance fee is required. We invite our public to support the festival through a donation at the end of the sessions. You decide how much you want to give.
