Note: unfortunately, we lost a lot of our website content, design programming and structure because of a mistake done a few days ago. We managed to get the program and film pages back online, which was our biggest priority. Bear with us if it looks all a bit funky sometimes: we do not have the time capacity to re-do the website completely. And if you happen to be a web-developer looking for a volunteer project: your help will be most appreciated from January on to build a whole new website!
From November 6th until the 10th, we will be at the Kommunales Kino of Freiburg with a program full of exciting films and discussions. Those who have already visited us know it: every year, we dedicate part of our program to a special question. This year’s Special Topic is: “United in Change – Striving for a Just Transition”.
This edition of the festival is also a very special one, as the Greenmotions Film Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024! To this end, we will be organizing various events in addition to the festival this year. Follow us on our social media channels and subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you!

About Us
Starting under the name Greenstorming in 2014, the festival was forst organised by students of the Renewable Energy Management Masters of the University of Freiburg. Quickly after that, volunteers from other fields joined the team and carried on the work and the non-profit association Greenmotions was founded.
Whether coming from the sustainibility field, filmmaking, or other paths of life, team members of the organisation team all share a passion for showing films that can inspire people to take action to build a sustainable future! The festival and our other screenings are the opportuniy for us to creating dilaogue spaces and connecting people with different initiatives.
To all volunteers that have made and continue to make Greenmotions what it is, we say thank you!!
Sponsors and partners
Our work would not be possible without the collaboration with and support of our partners, funders and sponsors. A big thank you to all of you!
